I've Got Good News

Q:

Take the postal abbreviations of four US states.  Put in the right order, they will give you a two word phrase naming something you might see on top of a building.

The title contains the word "news" whose letters represent the four main directions on a compass.  The image is of a pitcher in his "wind" up.

The postal abbreviations of Wisconsin, North Dakota, Virginia and Nebraska spell out WIND VANE which can be found on top of many buildings.

  1. The first letter of the first word followed by the first letter of the second word is a state abbreviation, as are the second and last letters.

  2. Lorenzo, if you mean second and last of the first word, I believe we have the same answer. Meanwhile, I'm consulting John Donne.

    1. Paul, actually I meant the second letters of each word and also the last letters of each word. But your observation is also valid.

  4. The John Donne reference:

    And find

Serves to advance an honest mind.
