ReplyDeleteThat's the basic idea; I can't get this stoopid comment form to format it the way I'd like (okay, I'm not even sure I know the way I'd like).
I'll try to clarify after you post the answer...unless, of course, I'm six feet under...or taken away in a chariot of fire....or life intervenes.
The lyrical reference to "Within You Without You" was intended to call attention to the fact that, in the original phrase, the letters comprising 'penthouse' are all interior, while those comprising 'basement' are exterior.
ReplyDeleteI think Lorenzo's comment alluded to the same thing, but his hit the bullseye and mine missed.
My formatting problem could have been solved by using an underscore, or any other placeholder, instead of the spacebar. The comment form seems to eliminate spaces that it considers superfluous.
How about:

as a tribute to Mr. Otis?
I originally had "upon these ten beams". Thought it made things too obvious. I should have picked up on your clue since I considered it for some time, along with the placement of my words.
ReplyDeleteI also think that the comment box does a disservice by eliminating extra spaces, especially when everyone is speaking in code
